1. ADVICE ON PURCHASING A NEW COMPUTER

2. ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE
I have extensive experience with various packages. Ask me first before you buy.
3. BACKUP OF DATA
Either a manual backup onsite or remotely via remote access (needs an external hard drive).
4. BASIC COMPUTER TRAINING
Onsite basic training. You draw up a list and I teach you.
5. CAN YOU RECOVER MY DATA?
As long as your hard drive is mechanically sound then I can recover your data, even if the hard drive structure is corrupt.
6. CANNOT PLAY A VIDEO FROM A DVD THAT I CREATED
There is software available to do this that is free and supports most video formats.
7. COMPUTER NEEDS TO BE REINSTALLED
Windows can be corrupt and as result very slow. I run a program that gives me the configuration of the computer (programs installed, etc). Data is backed up. Windows is reinstalled along with the same applications that were originally installed. Data is restored and email is reconfigured. Printing is setup as well.
8. SYNCHRONISING EMAIL VIA WEB BASED EMAIL ACCOUNTS AND MOBILE
Simple case of setting up email on each device associated with an email account
9. ADSL MODEM INSTALLATION AND SETUP
Provided that the Telkom line has been installed then it’s a fairly straightforward process. All I need is the Username and Password from your ISP
10. FIBRE INSTALLATION AND SETUP
If you are using Openserve (Telkom) for your fibre in conjunction with your ISP then it’s a fairly straight forward process. With VUMATEL you have to ensure that they have synchronised their cutover with your ISP otherwise you experience significant delays in delivery of service.
11. INTERNET OR EMAIL NOT WORKING
It could be on the TELKOM side or on the ISP side. Settings will need to be changed to make it work.
12. LAPTOP PROBLEMS
I do not replace cracked screens or keyboards. I will replace a hard drive, upgrade RAM and setup the computer with all of the necessary software that is required.
13. MY COMPUTER HAS CRASHED. WHAT MUST YOU DO?
I will come to you and diagnose the problem if I am able to do it onsite. (95% of the time it will entail taking it back to the office and finding the problem and then present you with my findings. I am able to advise you in conjunction with any up to date requirements that you may have.
14. MY SMART TV NEEDS INTERNET ACCESS
Just a case of configuring some settings in conjunction with your wireless network (or if cabled, some changes there). Older TV’s may require an additional device.
15. NEED TO EXTEND WIFI COVERAGE

16. OUTLOOK SLOW AND NOT SENDING/RECEIVING EMAILS
The Outlook file needs to be repaired offsite either because it is corrupt or too big. Diagnostic tools will be used to repair it.
17. PRINTING FROM AN iOS OR ANDROID DEVICE
This has become quite popular and is fairly easy to setup.
